THE ROBYN MATHISON POETRY COMPETITION 2022

 

THEME  ‘Animals - great or small’

CLOSING DATE — 31 October 2022

ENTRY FEE — $10 for up to 2 entries

LINE COUNT — A maximum of 40 lines

PRIZES — FIRST: $200, HC AND C CERTIFICATES

 

Entries must be a word document (not PDF), in a 12-point plain font, single spaced on one side of A4 paper.

Previously published work in any context cannot be submitted for this poetry competition.

The title must appear on the first page of each entry but, to ensure that judging of the entries is blind, the author’s name must not appear anywhere on the text.

Each entry must be accompanied by a separate cover page with the title of the poem, the entrant’s name and full contact details.

Entries should be emailed as attachments to the competition co-ordinator, Wendy Laing at: wendylaing02@gmail.com

Entry fee: $10.00 for up to two entries

Theme: Joy

Word count: Up to 1500 words.

 

RULES 

  1. Do not put your name on any pages of your entry; your name, phone number, and email address, along with the title of your entry, go on a cover page.
  2. All contest entries must be printed in Times New Roman or Arial 12-point type and double-spaced as a WORD document.
  3. Use one-inch (2.54 cm) margins all around.
  4. Indent each paragraph 3 to 5 spaces.
  5. The title of the work and a page number should appear on each page.
  6. Do not use fancy or script fonts for your text, except when stating character thoughts, which must be in italics.
  7. Do not include illustrations or pictures

 

All entries must be original works by the entrant, in English.

All rights in the story remain the property of the author.

Entries must not have been previously published in a professional media.

WINNERS IN THE ROSE FRANKCOMBE SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2021

Thank you to everyone who entered the Rose Frankcombe Short Story Award 2021. Here are the prize winners:

There were 63 entries in the SWWT Rose Frankcombe Short Story Award 2021.

Thanks must go firstly to our pre-judges, Ros Sydes, Mary Farr and Kathy Duff who brought the short-list down to 12 entries. These then went to the major judge, Sally Odgers who had the hard job of deciding on the winning entries.
